About WonderBits

WonderBits is a Valencia-based company specializing in Artificial Intelligence, data analytics and custom software development. Founded at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), we are a member of the Board of Trustees of ValgrAI and maintain close ties with the research community. We develop AI solutions that solve real-world problems and reach production.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for research talent to join an R&D project focused on Large Language Models (LLMs), predictive systems for logistics and resource management, and AI-driven management and orchestration of goal-oriented autonomous fleets.

To support this project, we will apply to the 2026 Industrial PhD and Torres Quevedo funding programmes of the Spanish State Research Agency (AEI). We are recruiting two different profiles:

Industrial PhD. Candidates who are about to start their PhD and would like to carry it out within a company, working on a real industrial research challenge. The PhD will be jointly supervised by WonderBits and the university.

Torres Quevedo Programme. Researchers holding a PhD who wish to develop their careers in industrial R&D. Applicants may have recently completed their doctorate or already have research experience.

Profile

  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Telecommunications Engineering, Physics, Data Science or a related engineering discipline. For the Industrial PhD position, applicants must meet the academic requirements for admission to a doctoral programme (typically Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees).
  • Interest in or experience with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), predictive modelling, Data Science, optimization or autonomous systems.
  • Motivation to apply research to real-world challenges and collaborate with multidisciplinary technical and business teams.
  • Publications, experience with Python and Machine Learning frameworks, and participation in R&D projects will be considered an advantage.

Eligibility requirements

Industrial PhD

  • Be enrolled in, or admitted to, a doctoral programme at a Spanish university by the time the employment contract is signed.
  • Not already hold a PhD degree.
  • Not have received more than 12 months of previous predoctoral funding (such as FPI, FPU or equivalent).

Torres Quevedo Programme

  • Hold a PhD degree before the submission of our application (no later than 29 October 2026).

For both programmes, applicants must not have had a previous employment relationship with WonderBits during the period established in the official funding call.

What we offer

  • A stable position to develop an in-house R&D project: a 4-year contract for the Industrial PhD position or a full-time permanent contract under the Torres Quevedo Programme.
  • A unique environment combining research excellence with industrial technology transfer, in close collaboration with UPV and ValgrAI.
  • A collaborative team and AI projects with real-world impact.
  • Hybrid working model: two on-site days per week (Monday and Tuesday).

How to apply

Please send your CV and a short motivation letter to rrhh@wonderbits.net before 15 October 2026, indicating “Industrial PhD” or “Torres Quevedo” in the subject line.

For the Industrial PhD position, please also attach your academic transcript. For the Torres Quevedo Programme, include your publications and R&D projects in your CV.

Employment is subject to the Spanish State Research Agency (AEI) awarding the corresponding funding, with results expected during 2027.
